Dear Matt:
Enclosed are some reprints.
That was Roger Schank.
Most of what you propose (e.g. intervals) already has its
partisans. The problems and the opportunity for originality within
the approach occur at a greater level of detail. For example, if
one proposes to use intervals, then one must say how the intervals
are to be used in the expression of general laws in the memory of
the machine and where the numbers representing the endpoints are to
come from. I prefer to reserve my arguments for the approach I
currently favor until you arrive.
I'm looking forward to seeing you in November.
